TRAINING IN ONTINYENT REPORT
SPAIN
Host
organization: MARTINEZ VALLS STATE SCHOOL
Date:
24.01.2022 - 28.01.2022
Day 1 – Monday January 24, 2022
This was the day
to arrange the participants’ arrival. In the evening the host organization
welcomed the partners in a local social club. We used a game as ice breaker to
get people in touch and to introduce the participants in the training so we
could get to know each other.
After the
introduction there was a light meal served as a small welcome party and as a
way to continue the talks in a more informal way. Food was traditional local
delights.
Day 2 – Tuesday January 25, 2022
Since Ontinyent
is a small town, there is only one accommodation so everybody in the group was
staying at the same accommodation. That was also the meeting point today, so we
picked up every one early in the morning and walked to the Valencia University
Ontinyent Campus. Jose Antoni canto, head in charge of this campus greeted
every one and explained how schools in Ontinyent benefit from having training
kindergarten teacher students and how the University benefit from having schools where students can complete
their degree. It is also important the collaborative work in some projects held
between schools and Univessity.
After that,
there was a reception in the Town Hall offered by the city Mayor. From this
moment on till the end of the day today, we joined another Erasmus visit that
was taking place in a different school in town.
To complete
today’s program we walked around the old quarter, visiting the museum, the bell
tower and the gothic church.
Lunch was served
at Casa Borras restaurant so every boy could taste a fantastic paella. A visit
to the local museum (MAOVA) was suggested for the afternoon.
Day 3 – Wednesday January 26, 2022
Today all
partners were supposed to meet at 8:45 am at school’s main gate. They needed to
be on time to observe a recreation of how our school organizes the first days
in September, the moment when a new school year begins.
Right
afterwards, they visited kindergarten rooms. To deal with this visit at a
better quality level, the people was split in groups of five. They had the
chance to stay in the rooms and interact with hosts as much as they liked.
After so many learning experiences it was the time for a break and for a snack.
Our school also
wanted to welcome the visitors and show them how warm we are so they could
watch a performance prepared for grade 5 Primary students. Our students showed
traditional local dances and music. The more daring ones, even had the
opportunity to practice and participate of these traditional dances.
To complete
today’s visit we had arranged a meeting with some parents and families from our
organization so they could exchange impressions about the functioning of the
school. We also prepared a simple presentation as an approach to the Education
System in the Valencia region.
Lunch was served
today at school. This time the partners could try Gaspatxo, another local
delight. Then, little time for a nap and a rest and voluntarily they walked to
Pou Clar lakes.
Day 4 – January 27, 2022
Today was
dedicated to visit different nursery schools in town. Due to organizational
purposes the group was divided in two. One group went first to Tralara School
and the other to Menuts Menudets. They had one hour visit, then time for a
snack and to go on with today’s plan they visited the nursery schools the other
way round.
Today’s lunch
was at Meson del Rey restaurant to try another local meal: baked rice.
After lunch,
voluntarily, some of the partners went to visit El Bosquet, another nursery school.
Farewell tapas
dinner took place at a downtown restaurant.
Day 5 – January 28, 2022
