DAY 1 - Sunday 19 March 2023
The first day was
dedicated to the arrival of the participants. In fact, it is not particularly
easy to reach Bosnia from partner countries.
To optimize
expenses and reduce the environmental impact, almost all partners used mini
buses: the Hungarians from JEB had a minibus for their team, the Spanish and
Estonians flew to Budapest, where Galileo's colleagues collected them and
together they went to Bosnia in a minibus.
The training took place in two cities of
Bosnia-Herzegovina, in order to offer more professional experience. All
partners reached Sarajevo on the first day.
According to the travel plan, some partners
had the opportunity to visit the area and enjoy a first gastronomic experience
in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
DAY 2 - Monday 20 March 2023
The morning was
dedicated to the visit to the Preschool center for Education and Rehabilitation
“Vladimir Nazor” in Sarajevo, where local professionals introduced the their
mission, activities, methodologies and good practice
This institution is
very important in the country. The institution’ main goal is to support the
level of independence in performing daily activities in children and youth with
cerebral palsy who are included in the regular education and rehabilitation
program, and to support their progress. The visit included the therapy room for
children with developmental disabilities, where children receive sensory
integration therapy to provide incentives that will contribute to a better
cognitive organization of the child, which will have a positive effect on functioning
in daily activities, better learning and behavior.
The lunch time was
a common lunch in one typical Restaurant “Inat kuća”, to taste Bosnian food and
discover local traditions.
Considering the
particular historical relevance of the city of Sarajevo in European history and
culture, both in relation to the First World War and the more recent war of
Yugoslavia, the host organization has organized a guided tour of the city.
DAY 3 - Tuesday 21 March 2023
The participants
moved to Tuzla, where the whole day was spent in the headquarters of the
partner Montessori IQ Corner.
The children and
educators welcomed the participants and guided them to discover the school, its
spaces, and the daily routine.
After the visit,
Amila Mujezinovic presented the local context, both in terms of legislation and
the cultural approach to pre-school education.
Then, she presented
the vision, mission and methodology of Montessori IQ Corner, and the adaptive
process of children and parents.
After the common Lunch, in the afternoon
the participants were involved in “World Down syndrome day workshop with
children”, contributing to the celebrations of the World Down Syndrome Day
(WDSD), 21 March: a global awareness day which has been officially observed by
the United Nations since 2012.
The workshops were held together with
children, also having the possibility to experiment and learn Montessori
educational methods that are used by the host partner.
DAY 4 - Wednesday 22 March 2023
On day 4 the
participants met the “Richmond Park Private Preschool” and learned about their
adaptation process in kindergarten in a bilingual context.
During lunch time,
in Montessori IQ Corner participants participated in an experiential-job
shadowing, assisting the lunch time and tasting the local meals.
In the afternoon,
the participants had time for a professional discussion about the acquired
knowledge and info and to evaluate the training. Furthermore the participants
discussed the finalization of the final publication and shared the conclusion
and the common reflections.
DAY 5 - Thursday 23 March 2023
Day 5 was dedicated
to the Coordination Meeting in the morning, then the participants said goodbye
until the final meeting in May.

The first day was dedicated
to the arrival of the participants.
At dinner time (7 pm), it was scheduled the first meeting to present
the week program, to meet each other
and to enjoy lunch together
at “Le Murate” cafè.
The morning was dedicated to visit the nurseries. The
group of participant, were slip into
two groups: one group went to Vinci town (a small town near Florence) to visit Piccino Picciò nursery
and the second group went to San Casciano
town (another small town near Florence) to visit Fiordaliso nursery. To reach the two town, Arca provided the
mini bus to accompany all the participants.
In both services, local professionals introduced to their mission, activities, methodologies and good practice for the
acclimatation period.
Visits included also the possibility to watch directly
the work of educators with children.
After the visit to the nursery, the two groups had the
possibility to visit the two towns and joying lunch
together.

The lunch times were a common lunch in two easy cafès, to taste
Italian food and enjoy the Tuscan landscape together
The morning of the third day was structured like the day
before. The group of participant,
were slip into two groups: one group went to Calenzano town (a town near Florence)
to visit Alberonido nursery and the second group went to Farfalla nursery in Florence. In both services,
local professionals introduced to their mission, activities,
methodologies and good practice for the acclimatation period.
To get to Calenzano, Arca provided again a mini bus for the first group, while to get to Farfalla nursery the second group got there by foot.

After the free time for lunch, in the afternoon the
participants were invited to visit
the “Istituto degli Innocenti” in the Santissima Annunziata square, in Florence.
Here, the the head of early childhood services of the
IDI, Cristina Gabbiani, presented the
project of the entire institute and then accompanied the group to visit
the 0-6 center Girandola, where kids from 0
to 6 y.o where welcomed.
On day 4, participants met at “Spazio Libro”, a place
where kids and family can come for
afternoon activity with expert educator in Media Education or simply come to take a book to read together.
During this day, Arca Cooperativa proposed some
activities that are usually carried out with families
in nursery schools.
These activities involved
all the participants in the training and were also greatly appreciated, prompting many questions and reflections.
At the end of the day, almost all the participants had a
common dinner in the city center,
eating pizzas.
Day 5 was dedicated to the Coordination Meeting in the
morning, at Arca Lab space.
Arca presented ArcaLab project, leaving the participants
the opportunity to ask questions and
exchange opinions about all the aspects of the early childhood education.
At 12.00 the meeting ended and all the
participants said goodbye.
